Art That Begins with You

At daeuArt, every commissioned piece begins with a conversation. It’s a chance to understand what matters to you—your values, your experiences, and the atmosphere you want to invite in. The artist listens for what resonates, for what feels alive and true. When something in that exchange sparks inspiration, the work begins—guided by intuition, shaped by vision, and made to belong within your world.

Meet The Artist

Daeu Angert is a Serbian-American artist whose journey in the visual arts began at the age of 12 when she first picked up a paintbrush in her hometown of Belgrade, Serbia. Since then, she has honed her craft, developing her own distinctive fingerpainting technique, visual language, and narrative style. Daeu has exhibited her art in New York City, where her work has been well received for its deep storytelling and symbolic elements. Her artwork transcends traditional boundaries, delving into the intersection of art and thought leadership. She is celebrated for her ability to capture complex ideas on canvas, sparking conversations and inspiring contemplation.

In addition to her artistic practice, Daeu hosts the I Paint Ideas podcast, where she gives her art a voice by sharing the ideas and inspiration behind each piece, offering listeners a deeper connection to the stories she tells through her artwork.

Daeu is also the driving force behind daeuArt Gallery and the founder of the daeuArt Foundation Inc., both of which reflect her dedication to expanding the boundaries of artistic expression and fostering a vibrant community for innovation in the arts.

The Process

1

Submit Request

To begin, submit a short application that introduces who you are, what matters to you, and the environment where the artwork will live. It’s not about specifications—it’s about offering a glimpse into your story. Every application is reviewed with care.
2

Interview with Daeu

If your application is selected, you’ll have a one-on-one conversation with Daeu focused on your values, experiences, and the atmosphere you hope the artwork will evoke. It’s not about giving direction—it’s about creating space for inspiration. If the dialogue resonates, Daeu will accept the commission and begin the work.
3

Work of Art Creation

If inspired, Daeu will begin creating the piece—guided entirely by her vision, intuition, and visual language. You won’t see sketches or updates; the work reveals itself when it’s complete. The result is a one-of-a-kind artwork shaped by your story, and true to the artist’s practice.
4

Art Show

The artwork you inspired may be included in a future daeuArt exhibition. Select commissioned pieces are showcased in our live pop-up shows, offering viewers a glimpse into the stories that sparked them.
5

Enjoy Your Art

Once complete, your artwork is carefully delivered, ready to be installed and lived with. It’s more than a piece—it’s a presence. One that reflects a moment, a conversation, and a connection only you could have inspired.
6

Make A Difference

With every commissioned piece, a donation is made to the daeuArt Foundation to provide art supplies and creative resources to children in underfunded communities. Your commission helps spark creativity in the next generation of artists, thinkers, and problem solvers.

What happens after I submit my application?

We review each submission with care. If there’s a sense of creative alignment, you’ll be contacted for an interview. This conversation allows Daeu to listen and determine whether a new work is ready to emerge through your story and presence.

Do I get to choose the colors, subject, or style?

No—this is not a directive process. You won’t be selecting visual elements. The artwork is entirely guided by the artist’s vision, intuition, and established visual language. Daeu’s process is rooted in abstraction and symbolism, developed through years of disciplined practice. She brings a heightened sensitivity to emotional and spatial cues, allowing her to perceive meaning in the nuances of your story and environment. While you won’t direct the creative choices, your presence, values, and space play a vital role in shaping the conditions for the work to emerge—one that is both personal to you and true to the artist’s voice.

How long does it take for my painting to be done?

On average, it takes anywhere between 4-6 months from the first meeting to the time the painting can be safely shipped due to varying drying time.

Will my artwork be framed?

Framing is not included by default, as each collector’s space and preferences vary. However, we’re happy to recommend framing options or connect you with trusted partners to ensure the piece is presented beautifully in your environment. Custom framing can also be arranged upon request for an additional fee.

What is the investment for commissioned art?

The investment starts at $10,000. The payments are governed by the Commissioned Art Contract and follow the milestones payment schedule.

  • Initial Deposit – 10% (Non-Refundable)
Due upon acceptance of your commission. This secures your place in the artist’s calendar and covers the conceptual development and creative initiation of the work.

  • Final Payment – 90%
Due upon completion of the artwork, once you’ve had the opportunity to review it. If you choose to move forward, the remaining balance is due prior to delivery. If not, there is no further obligation—the artwork remains with the artist.

Submitting your request does not obligate you to purchase anything.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards and ACH bank transfers. Payment instructions will be provided once your commission is accepted. U.S. sales tax or use tax is applied where required by law. For international shipments, buyers are responsible for any VAT, import taxes, or customs duties charged by their country.

Custom framing and shipping are optional and quoted separately based on destination and preferences.

What if I don’t like the artwork?

Once the piece is complete, you’ll have the opportunity to view it. If you choose to move forward, the remaining balance is due prior to delivery. If not, there is no further obligation—the artwork remains with the artist.

Please note: sales tax (where applicable), shipping, and optional custom framing are billed separately. For international collectors, VAT and customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer and must be settled before delivery.
