In-Between The Masks was inspired by Daeu’s conversation with Dr. Karina Ochis, leadership & virtual reality expert, about the need in modern society to create personas – especially as we interact with each other online. This piece explores what happens to the person when they need to switch from one mask to another. The oil painting depicts the side view of many masks we wear, while the digital companion offers the POV of the person wearing the mask.
