About La Paloma

La Paloma fine art prints are based on Daeu Angert’s original oil painting, Acceleration of Change, affectionately known as La Paloma. This artwork served as the cornerstone of Daeu’s 2020 Emerging Tech Collection, exploring the profound impacts of technology on society.

Within each stroke of La Paloma lies a narrative steeped in contemplation and insight. Daeu’s creative journey started with a fundamental question: ‘What does it truly mean to be confronted with an accelerated change?’ Striving beyond clichés she drew inspiration from the rhythmic nuances of Argentine tango— and found the answer. Facing change is like a tango dance between optimism for the future and the fear of the unknown.

As Daeu lost herself in the beautiful music of the tango, she captured its spirit and infused La Paloma with deep emotions and storytelling. This remarkable painting, measuring 30″ x 48″, now hangs in a prestigious private collection in New York City’s Upper West Side, showcasing its lasting brilliance and valued legacy.
